Associate-Professor Morton Burt is an Endocrinologist working within the Southern Adelaide Diabetes and Endocrine Service. He is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Endocrine Society of Australia. After clinical training Associate-Professor Burt completed a PhD within the Pituitary Research Unit, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney, investigating the effect of glucocorticoid excess on protein metabolism. Currently, his primary research interests are the effects of glucocorticoids on carbohydrate metabolism and cardiovascular risk and management of inpatient hyperglycaemia. His major clinical interests are pituitary and genetic endocrine disorders.
