Achamma is an accredited practicing dietitian and a credentialed diabetes educator. She has been working in the area of diabetes for over 20 years. Working with Queensland Health at Townsville Community Health, she provides Diabetes care and specialist outreach to Palm Island and Townsville Aboriginal Islander Health Services.She also works in a private practice. She is passionate about prevention of diabetes and its complications and outside her working hours, does voluntary community work in this area both locally and internationally. She has a keen interest in research particularly Diabetic Foot Ulcers and has presented papers at state, national & international conferences.
