Grant Russell

Dr Grant Russell is a GP and health services researcher. He is the Professor of Primary Care Research at Monash University and was between 2011 and 2017 the head of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences’ multi-disciplinary School of Primary Health Care. His research program is directed towards understanding and measuring the impact of primary care reform on patients, clinicians and general practices. His academic career commenced during 6 ½ years living and working in Canada. While in Canada he received a President's Award from the North American Primary Care Research Group for leadership in several national investigations of research capacity in primary care.
He has worked as a family physician for over 20 years in both Canada and Australia, and currently works part-time in a small general practice in Melbourne
