Barbie has been a registered nurse for more than 30 years. She completed Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education in 2002, becoming a Credentialled Diabetes Educator in 2005, she completed Master of Nursing Practice NP through Deakin University in 2008 and achieved Nurse Practitioner endorsement in May 2010, and gained prescribing rights in February 2012.
Her scope of practice incorporates management of adults and children with type 1 diabetes, adults with type 2 and women with gestational diabetes.
