- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
My qualifications include a B.App.Sc. (Exercise and Sport Science) in 2002 and Ph.D. in 2005 (fast-tracked), both at The University of Sydney. I have been awarded research fellowships on a continuous basis from 2005 to 2018. My current appointment is Senior Lecturer, School of Health Sciences, Western Sydney University.
With over 70 peer-reviewed articles (42 as first author, 54 as senior author) which have received over 5,600 citations, I am known globally for my breadth of clinical research expertise in obesity and related chronic diseases. As the founding President of the National Association of Clinical Obesity Services (NACOS) Incorporated, I am at the forefront of developing strategies to improve obesity assessment and management standards in clinical obesity services across Australia's health system.
Over the last five years, I have established a track record in developing the national Position Statement on Clinical Obesity Services in Public Hospitals, the National Framework for Clinical Obesity Services, and clinical education for obesity care through effective engagement with relevant stakeholders including NACOS, ANZMOSS, ANZOS, and Healthed.
